Overseas projects round up
07 December, 2011Our interior designers have logged an impressive amount of air miles this year with projects in Moscow, Innsbruck and St Petersburg. Both the Moscow house and Innsbruck house are due for installation of final furniture in January 2012, whilst the apartment in St Petersburg is in the early design stages.
We worked closely with joiners in Graz, Austria on the Moscow and Innsbruck projects, then shipped bespoke joinery, furnishings, wallpapers and light fittings over, quite a feat of logistics and organisation.

Two more projects in the Phillimore Estate
02 December, 2011Does Studio Indigo now have the record for number of projects in the Phillimores? Our fifth and sixth houses in the Estate are now on the drawing boards and due for a start on site in the spring of 2012.
Number five will have a new basement with pool as well as complete internal upgrade, with Studio Indigo also undertaking the interior design. Number six is 6,700 square feet of internal and external work, in conjunction with interior designers Todhunter Earl , a familiar collaborator of ours.

Planning Appeal approval - Kensington
07 October, 2011Studio Indigo was commissioned to gain planning approval for a lower ground floor playroom extension and a second floor dining room extension to this distinctive corner terrace located in RBKC.
From the outset it was decided to split the application into two components to minimise the chance of either alteration impeding the approval of the other.
The lower ground extension was straightforward and approval was granted in April 2011, allowing refurbishment works to begin on site.
The second floor was far more controversial and after nearly a year of negotiations and refusals we won our appeal and works have started on the second half of the project. The property is due for completion in early 2012.

Planning successes – Chelsea and St Johns Wood
09 September, 2011This week two projects for the same client finally received planning consent. In RBKC Studio Indigo made a successful application to raise the roof height on a detached house in Carlyle Square, allowing for an additional floor to be created from the original cramped attic rooms.
Meanwhile consent also came through from Westminster council for refurbishment and new basement to a Grade II listed house in St Johns Wood.
Both projects are now well into documentation with start on site anticipated to be spring 2012.
