Studio Indigo is delighted to announce that James Kandutsch and Raimundo Torres have been promoted to Associate with immediate effect.

James has been with Studio Indigo since arriving from his native New Zealand in late 2008 and became a Team Leader in 2010. He has worked on a number of prestigious projects, including two large Victorian town house refurbishments in Kensington and a Grade II listed building in Chelsea.

Raimundo joined us in November 2008 from Venezuela and proved himself a valuable member of the team from the beginning. During his four years with us he has gone from strength to strength, and is now running his own two large projects in Kensington.

We know that with their strong leadership, project management and design skills, coupled with their ever growing experience in high end residential refurbishments, the appointment of James and Raimundo will allow us to continue to strengthen the Studio Indigo management team.

Following a protracted but finally successful planning application, we are delighted that works have at last started on our project in Tregunter Road.

The works involve a complete remodelling of the house both internally and externally to create a wonderful home for our client. A new basement is being added which will contain the swimming pool, sauna and media room.

The project is expected to take two years to complete. Once the building works have finished, the architecture team will hand the reins over to our Interiors and Landscape design teams to complete the project.

Now six months into the programme, construction work is progressing nicely on our latest project in Phillimore Gardens.

The work includes the total refurbishment of each level and the formation of a 200 square metre
basement under the footprint of the building.

Working from the top-down major structural alterations are progressing to the upper levels with the 3rd and 2nd floors being replaced and wall partitions built, whilst the basement is being excavated by a separate team below.

The plan is for both teams to meet in the middle as work progresses beneath the house and at the upper levels.

Whilst major structural work is undertaken within the building, the first paint strip to the Front Facade has been competed. The intention is to remove all the paint back to bare masonry across all flat areas and mouldings, in preparation for rigorous repair and decoration work to follow.

Stay tuned for the next update!

Our interior designers have logged an impressive amount of air miles this year with projects in Moscow, Innsbruck and St Petersburg. Both the Moscow house and Innsbruck house are due for installation of final furniture in January 2012, whilst the apartment in St Petersburg is in the early design stages.

We worked closely with joiners in Graz, Austria on the Moscow and Innsbruck projects, then shipped bespoke joinery, furnishings, wallpapers and light fittings over, quite a feat of logistics and organisation.
